Today we had a presentation to show a tutor how much we had achieved so far in the project. Below are our slides:
Our main feedback was:
They liked:
The idea of having smaller polished level rather than something too large. Straight forward gameplay.
Having a backdrop layer for the garden area.
Overall scroll/ treasure map background for our visual designs.
The narrative comic strip screens at start and end.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Voice over for the narrative comic strip screens.
That we benchmark one area of the castle to be our style guide and what we should aim for. Email out a bench mark inspiration image for a current game.
Scale the assets correctly early on.
Make round assets have enough geometry to look rounded. Things we need to think about next: How the time of day is going to affect the lighting of the castle and outside areas. Exterior design of the castle.
Who is going to be assigned the narrative screens?
Composition of the narrative screens.
